Pilot Project

We are proud to be working in 9 schools in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Our pilot project will have an impact on 132 teachers, 4,517 pupils, 54 women and 36 youth.

FUNDA TRUST

FUNDA TRUST is a non-profit organisation registered in the United Kingdom.

The trust works with various education and non-education stakeholders to improve the quality of education in underserved communities. It, in conjunction with government authorities, has identified multiple areas of intervention that will enhance the learning experience of learners, i.e. Teacher Development and Training, Teaching Assistant Training and Uniform Manufacturing.

Fundisa Project

Teacher Training and Development Programme

Our first project is called Fundisa Teacher Training and Development Programme, which intends to empower teachers to be key catalysts of change in their schools. By empowering teachers, we hope for overall cultural transformation and a high- performance value system will emerge.

The project will have an impact on the internal and external stakeholders of the school ecosystem. The ultimate goal is centre the school as a strategic hub for sustainable learning and communal cohesion. It will do this by empowering key stakeholders that are important in the long term sustainability of a collaborative culture of excellence. It will also aim for Cultural Transformation of the schools. Organic development of an excellence outlook, interactions to reflect and champion collaborative principles.

The trust has been granted a mandate by the South African National Department of Basic Education and Department of education of the Eastern Cape to run a pilot project in 2022 in the province. All schools have one in thing in common, they are underperforming schools and are faced with severe socio-economic problems that affect the performance of the learners.
